Crossroads is growing. We are proud to announce that from 2016 Hungarian bands will join the showcase selection that already includes Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. The fact that Hungarian roots music is a timeless inspiration was brilliantly documented automn 2015, when Womex music fair moved to Budapest after taking place in Western Europe for past twenty years. Our colleagues from Budapest Womex became partners of Crossroads.

International quartet MAMATOHE, composed of Czech bassist Tomáš Liška, Czech saxophonist Marcel Bárta, Mexican pianist Mark Aanderud and Argentinian drummer Hernan Hecht, recorded ist eponymous album at the end of their 2012 tour. The album is made of compositions by all participating musicians, especially their collective improvisations, and it captures the band in an excellent chemistry of mutual musical interconnection.
The album Fragile Bliss recorded by Tomas Liska, Lubos Malina and Michal Nejtek has been nominated for the Andel award 2015 (Czech grammy) in the Jazz & Blues category!
It is the fourth nomination in a row for Tomas Liska’s solo CD’s.
Between September 7th and 24th will join the Czech/Slovak tour of Will Johns, British guitar player, singer & songwriter, son of the producer Andy Johns (Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones) and nephew of Eric Clapton… I am REALLY looking forward!!!
Tomas Liska, Lubos Malina (banjo player and multiinstrumentalist) and pianist Michal Nejtek just came out with the new acoustic project and CD Fragile Bliss, full of the new original compositions!
Unusual sound of this trio is based on upright bass, banjo and piano.
The album Bercheros Odyssey has been nominated for the Andel award 2014 (Czech grammy) in the Jazz & Blues category.
It is the third nomination in a row for Tomas Liska’s solo CD’s.
